Reasons for Mac owners to purchase anti-virus softwares:  

1/Prevent you from spreading viruses to your friends, co-workers, family members who is using PC through e-mail.  

2/Very important! Microsoft Office Macro virus does infect Word, Excel documents even on a Mac with Mac version of Office. Macro virus is a kind of viruses spread among Microsoft Office documen files, won't do anything harmful to your computer or other files, but will corrupt Word, Excel files.  

If you turn on auto protect feature, it will slow down your system a little bit. All anti-virus softwares do that, no exception, I guess that's the price you need to pay for having peace of mind. And honestly, it's barely noticble if you have a 1Ghz or faster machine with 512MB or more memory.  

If you want to minimize the performance impact, you can turn off the auto-protect feature leave it only to scan files that are downloaded from Internet and attachments files received via e-mail, considering that's where people get viruses over 99% of the time.  

There are always some smart kids out there may one day write a nasty Mac OS X virus. Ask yoruself do you really want to take the risk and put your computers and all of your files on the line just to save that $79 dollars?[/b]

Davvero straordinario!!! cmq gli rispondo per sport:

1) Cazzi loro! Si facessero un mac!

2) L'ennesima dimostrazione che i programmi microsoft sono programmi del cacchio. Usate Iwork o l'ottimo neoffice.

Ma perchè !!????? Perché dovrei rallentare anche di un millesimo il mio mac a cazzo!! A sto punto mi apro 15 widget contemporaneamente, inutili ma almeno carine da guardare (al contrario dell'antivirus).
